Dehradun: The Election Commission of India has published the final electoral roll of Uttarakhand following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Uttarakhand, the state now has 71,58,949 registered electors in the final roll. The final electoral roll was published on October 3, 2026, after the claims and objections received during the revision process were disposed of.

Uttarakhand’s Electorate Falls by 8.01 Lakh After SIR

The SIR exercise began in Uttarakhand on June 8, 2026, with July 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. At the beginning of the exercise, the state had 79,60,762 electors.

A draft electoral roll was published on July 14, 2026, containing 71,33,785 electors. After the claims and objections process, the final roll increased to 71,58,949 electors.

Compared with the electoral roll at the beginning of SIR, the final electorate is lower by 8,01,813.

1.29 Lakh New Voters Added

During the claims and objections process, 1,29,872 new voters were added, while 1,04,708 names were removed in accordance with the prescribed electoral-roll rules.

As a result, the final electoral roll contains 25,164 more electors than the draft roll published in July.

The final list comprises:

  • 37,37,701 male electors
  • 34,21,036 female electors
  • 212 third-gender electors

The electoral roll also includes 72,656 voters in the 18–19 age group and 1,22,892 voters above 80 years of age. Uttarakhand currently has 12,543 polling stations.

Eligible Voters Left Out Can Still Apply

The publication of the final electoral roll does not prevent eligible citizens who were left out from seeking inclusion.

The Election Commission has directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to compare the pre-SIR electoral roll with the current final roll and identify eligible electors whose names are missing.

Eligible individuals can submit Form 6 to apply for inclusion in the electoral roll. Applications can be submitted online through the ECI Net App or offline through the concerned BLO. Special camps and door-to-door outreach will also be undertaken to assist eligible voters.

The exercise will particularly help identify eligible voters who may have been inadvertently left out, including young and first-time voters and people in vulnerable or difficult-to-reach groups.

How to Check the Final Voter List

Uttarakhand voters can check their electoral details through the Election Commission’s voter services platform and the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Uttarakhand. The final electoral roll is also available through the concerned District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officer and Booth Level Officer.

The publication of the final roll marks the completion of the main SIR revision exercise in Uttarakhand, while the enrolment process for eligible citizens who remain outside the electoral roll will continue through the prescribed procedure.
